Problem Solving

Children are faced with problems on a daily basis.  They can be taught strategies to solve problems effectively.

When working with children on problem solving skills, consider the following:  use situations that occur naturally, use events from books you are reading to your child, tell stories that help illustrate problem solving skills talking aloud through the process, and let the child help you solve problems that happen at home.

In addition, many of the games and activities recommended in this site can encourage children to learn how to be better problems solvers.
